Our WriteShop Starter Pack includes an 8-1/2″ x 11″ poster featuring the 5 Steps of the Writing Process. Well, after several years, we decided it’s time to retire our old poster in favor of a fresh new look.
My daughter, our talented designer, has presented us with two great choices. The problem is we love them both and can’t make a decision, so we need your help! Please vote for your favorite by adding a comment…

On September 1, we’ll put all comments into a hat and draw five names. Each winner will get a free poster! We’ll announce the winner here on Tuesday, September 2.

Great looking posters! While I like the font of the number 5 better in the red one, I prefer the blue poster. The blue one is brighter looking, and I like the layout of the sticky notes (easier for the eyes to follow the 1-5 sequence). I also like the portrait orientation (as opposed to landscape) and prefer the ruled paper background more than the crumpled paper (though frustrated writers may relate more to the crumpled paper…ha!). My vote is in for the blue poster!
I really like both of them for different aspects, but I would have to say that my hands-down pick is the blue poster. I live the fonts and their differences. I also prefer the lined-paper look.
I love the color in both the posters but the layout of the blue one seems easier to follow so that one get my vote.
I prefer the blue one. The sticky notes seem easier to follow, and I like the look of the lined paper. The blue is also more calming to the eyes.
I prefer the red poster. The layout is more appealing to me and it looks more “balanced.” I don’t care for the lined paper on the blue poster because it seems to compete with the lined background.
Well, I’m a 13 year old boy and I like the red poster best. The blue looks like a girls only.
Well, I think they both look nice, but if I had to pick just one, I’d go for the blue one. I like the look of the notebook paper and I like the print style on the words “writing process”. The drawn pencil looks cute too.
Either way, you’ll have a great-looking new poster to show off! I’d love to have one!
My 13 year old dd and I both immediately said “Red”! Neither of us is usually a ‘red’ person, but that one just jumped out at us. We prefer the color combinations and the fonts on that one. My dd said the blue would make her groan when she thought about writing.
If I have to chose between the two, I’d choose the blue poster, but change the 5 to the font of the red poster.
I like the blue poster the best. It really stands out, and I like the “notebook paper” look to it. I’ve also discovered that I have more room on my walls for vertical posters rather than horizontal. I can’t wait to see which poster wins it’s place in Poster History.
I like the blue poster. It is much more inviting. Just change the font and it is perfect!
I Vote for the Red - I love the crumpled paper background! It is very Clever!
I think both posters look great, but I prefer the blue one. I love the poster title font and I like the letter layout over the landscape layout,
This one is difficult. I love the blue poster, and my husband loves the red. Maybe you need to make both. I’d probably also like the red poster more if you change the font of the 5 to the same as the blue poster, and add the hand drawn pencil to it.
I prefer the blue poster. It is eye catching, and I like the way the papers look ‘neater’ in the blue one.
My vote is for the blue poster. The student’s efforts are grouped together above, with the other people’s input of parent editing, plus final draft below. This seems a clearer way to group the steps.
I like the blue poster. I like blue!
I prefer the blue poster. The layout is easier to read and more pleasing to my eyes.
Even though red is my favorite color, the blue poster looks sharper and crisper - it is also more eyecatching and causes one to pause and read it.
The blue poster really stands out and causes one to pause and read the contents. Sharper and crisper images seem to be applied. I like the blue poster just the way it is without changing a thing.
I really like the red poster. The color pops! I also like the landscape style instead of portrait style because of the visual impact.
Wow, I had tried leaving a comment yesterday and apparently it didn’t go through! So here I go again.
I love both, but my first reaction was that I like the layout of the blue poster best, but I love the red stripes from the other. Of course, if you were to put the red with the second layout, it might not look the way it does in my head, but you know…
That’s just the first reaction I had.
Either way, though, I think you’ll have a keeper!
I like the poster with the blue background best. It just captures my eye. My son Ben likes the blue because it matches his Writeshop Manual. God Bless
I like the blue poster better. I like the pencil on the poster. Looks like you’re ready to write. Both look good. Great Job!
Definitely the blue one. The red one screams at me like red correction marks on an essay! The blue one is calm and soothing.
I love the font on the red, but the blue has a much more eye-appealing layout, so BLUE it is.
I would definately choose the one with the red outline, much more eye catching and appealing. Thanks
