David, I’m not sure how to answer your question. This sign originally came from Flickr.com, but I see now that I forgot to tag it properly. Unfortunately, I can’t find the original anymore, though I have tried all sorts of search terms. This is the best I can do:

my name is David Greenslade I’m an academic and published writer in Wales, UK
if you google ‘zeus greenslade bbc’ you’ll see information about my last book and if you go to “darkfairground.wordpress.com” you’ll see something about a forthcoming book and exhibit

I’m currently researching signs and came across the sign of yours at the building site – crazy english
I would like to use this photo in a presentation I may give on my study of signs (eventually) there is no date in sight but this wording typifies so well many other miswordings
and this is a ocnvenient time to write so I thought I’d ask
it would be for college use – probably a seminar talk

just doing the courteous thing and asking
it’s a lot easier than making my own signs and faking it
I’ve seen others but yours works really well

would you mind – is this okay

That is so great! Bad spelling and grammar irk me, I don’t know why… But this is just- almost so bad it’s got to have another explanation. lol.
