Found on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Midway. That unnecessary extra “N” is a good example of government excess.
“Why does this say ‘upcomming’ events?”
“Because it’s plural. If they were talking about just one event, it would have said “upcoming.’”
“Oh, OK. Upcomming toumaments.”
“TOUMAMENTS?”
“That’s what it says.”

Why does spelling seem to be less important. I remember a teacher saying, “Spelling and neatness counts.” It’s sad that we’re setting so many up for failure.
I couldn’t agree more, Jennifer.
I was too busy trying to figure out what a toumament was to notice the plural of “upcomming.” lol
Too funny, JoJo!
Referring to Jennifer’s comment above about spelling: I sometimes browse through Craig’s List and it’s interesting to see many advertisements from would-be tutors with many spelling mistakes!
Janet, I’ll have to check those out. More fodder for my bad grammar and spelling posts!
I think “toumament” was “tournament” with the r and n run too close together.
I think so too, Carolyn. I was just having fun.
They probably paid $700,000 for that extra N.
Probably!
