Born to blog

I’ve dreamed of this day. Silly, I know. But I’m sure I was born to blog. My head swims with ideas: A beautifully crafted sentence to share, or a perfect quotation.  A tip to help a struggling writer. A bit of writing humor. A practical idea. A word game. So I sort, file away, remember some, forget others. Aughhh! I need an outlet! A place for tidbits. A place to write about writing.

I should start a blog.

It’s been on my to-do list since 2005, and one of my actual goals for 2007, so quickly come and gone. So what holds me up? Sigh. Like everything else, it must find a place in my busy schedule. Suddenly, a new year—and with it a fresh resolve, a renewed eagerness to join the blogging world. I make it happen. A blog is born!

Now I feel like a schoolgirl poised over the crisp white pages of a new notebook, pen in hand, my words yearning to spill over. Maybe tomorrow I’ll feel practical. But today I feel positively poetic!

Poetic: You are!
And we grin and laugh with you, school girls giddy with the possibilities.
A place to let it all spill and congeal and become something beautiful.
We look forward to it, Kim….

Goodness, Penny! Knock me off that pedestal RIGHT NOW, girl! If you could see me now, you’d just laugh. It’s noon and I’m still in PJs because it’s cold and blustery outside and my fuzzy slippers just seemed much more appealing than tennies.

Let’s see. Next to me is an empty bowl, a remnant of the cold cereal I just ate for lunch. One of the ultimate comfort foods! :o) No grandkids coming today, but there’s still a trail of Legos, marbles, plastic food, and My Little Ponies with rubber bands in their tails leftover from yesterday’s visit!

I need to bake a cheesecake for a family birthday tomorrow and whip my house (and myself!) into shape before Jim comes home.

OK, do you feel better now?

he he, no, I’m good on the home front, in fact I wear pjs often on purpose so I remind myself the errands will wait, and I don’t go anywhere that way. But I will tell ya one of my secret fears is that I will forget what I am wearing and show up at the post office in my nightgown, hopefully one of my youngins would stop me before I did that. What I admire is that y’all get things done and efficiently and they look so professional! I have more ideas than I do days in the year. My brain is always going too fast to keep up. I must have 20 “in progress” projects. And a hundred others that I have thoughts for. Yet I often feel like a dog chasing my tail! But thanks for the mental picture I will see you in a whole new light now :) .

I loved your blog, I share the love for writing and seeing your blog inspired me to continue. I started a blog because it was part of an online course I took last year and right now I´m still baby crawling. I´m really excited to see that other people feel the same way I do about writing, I hope we can share a lot. Again, great blog you got here.
